Description: The lights were sold in a 15″ tube and have a black remote control with 21 buttons and a CR2025 lithium coin battery.

Hazard:

The battery compartment design of the NICREW submersible light remote control does not comply with the button cell battery safety requirements of 16 CFR § 1263. Under extreme impact conditions, the battery compartment may unintentionally open, allowing children access to the coin cell battery and posing an ingestion hazard.

Remedy:

Replace the remote control.

What To Do:

If your order was placed between May 2024 and August 2024, you are eligible for a free replacement remote. NICREW sold this submersible aquarium light (N21743) exclusively at Amazon. Nicrew and Amazon are reaching out to all customers to begin a recall program. NICREW reported this issue to CPSC and released a joint recall notice.   1. Immediately stop using the remote. Remove the coin battery from the remote and place the battery in an area that children cannot access.
  2. These batteries should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures.
  3. Contact us at support@nicrew.com with your Amazon order to obtain a replacement remote.
